São Paulo municipalities launch traffic, free‑bus and park revitalisation projects
The Atibaia City Hall will reconfigure traffic in the Recreio Estoril neighborhood, converting several corridors to one‑way operation, installing new vertical and horizontal signage, and adjusting street geometry to improve vehicle flow and safety for drivers, pedestrians and local businesses.
In Cotia, the municipal "Tarifa Zero Inclusiva" program began on Sunday, offering free rides on all municipal bus lines. Approximately 6,714 passengers used the service without needing a card or prior registration, aiming to broaden access to leisure, culture and commerce.
The São Paulo State Government approved R$ 2.5 million for Ribeirão Pires, allocating R$ 600 000 for infrastructure upgrades on Avenida Rotary (including parking, roadway adjustments and accessible sidewalks) and R$ 1.9 million for the revitalisation of Parque Oriental with new decks, landscaping and mobility improvements. Mayor Guto Volpi said the investments “reinforce the commitment to sustainable development, environmental preservation and the quality of life for residents.”
