São Paulo State Coffee Quality Contest hits record participation

The 25th São Paulo State Coffee Quality Contest has reached record participation levels, with 395 samples submitted by coffee producers from 80 different municipalities. Organized by the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply through the Directorate of Integral Technical Assistance (CATI), the event has seen its highest number of entries in the last five years.

Following an initial classification, Arabica and Canephora beans were sent to the Institute of Food Technology (Ital) in Campinas for evaluation. The competition includes various categories such as natural, pulped natural, fermented, and organic for Arabica, as well as natural Canephora. Professional tasters and roasting masters are conducting sensory evaluations, with the award ceremony expected to take place in November.
