São Paulo State expands social assistance programs with mobile kitchens and free bakery courses

The São Paulo state government launched the mobile "Carreta Itinerante Cozinhalimento" in Araraquara, offering free bakery training from July 28‑31. Two classes for people aged 16 and older filled all 50 spots, teaching bread‑making techniques aimed at personal use and entrepreneurship.

At the same time, the state's Bom Prato Mobile program relocated five of its food‑service trucks to new sites in São Paulo city, continuing to provide around 300 nutritious meals daily to residents of vulnerable neighborhoods. The initiative is part of a larger effort that includes 71 fixed sites, four canteens and 48 trucks serving 128 locations across 42 municipalities.

Both projects are intended to boost professional qualification, promote healthy eating and generate income opportunities for low‑income citizens in the state.
