São Paulo state tourism highlights waterfalls and Tietê River route

The North Coast of São Paulo (Litoral Norte) features ten selected waterfalls spanning Bertioga, Caraguatatuba, Ilhabela, São Sebastião and Ubatuba. Managed by the Circuito Litoral Norte consortium, the sites offer trails of varying difficulty and seasonal variations, with drier paths in winter and fuller cascades in summer, all within largely preserved Atlantic Forest areas.

In the interior, the Rota do Tietê Vivo showcases the river’s source at Parque Nascentes do Rio Tietê in Salesópolis and follows a scenic ecotourism corridor that includes historic towns, boat trips on the eclusa at Barra Bonita, and regional cuisine such as wood‑fire dishes, cambuci preserves and fresh trout.
