São Paulo strengthens its role as affordable hub for motorsport tourism and data‑centre construction

The Sheraton São Paulo WTC Hotel and the adjoining WTC Events Center have become the preferred base for Formula 1 teams and other top‑level racing series during the São Paulo Grand Prix, offering specialised hospitality, logistics and proximity to the Interlagos circuit. Director‑general Carlos Jacobina highlighted the complex’s continuous investment in infrastructure and connectivity that supports the motorsport trade.

In parallel, a study by Turner & Townsend shows that building data‑centre capacity in São Paulo costs about US$ 10.75 per watt installed, lower than major markets such as Tokyo (US$ 15.15/W), Singapore (US$ 14.53/W) and even Northern Virginia (US$ 10.92/W). The report notes a sharp decline of over 50 % in construction‑cost inflation from the previous year, reinforcing the city’s competitive edge for high‑tech infrastructure projects.
