São Paulo to host 50th FIAT/IFTA World Conference on television archives

São Paulo will host the 50th edition of the FIAT/IFTA World Conference from October 6 to 9, 2026, at the Cinemateca Brasileira. Organized by the International Federation of Television Archive Institutions (FIAT/IFTA), the event serves as a global forum for the audiovisual archive community to discuss media preservation and access.

The four-day conference will feature over 90 speakers participating in panels, roundtables, and keynote presentations. A pre-conference day will include workshops focusing on ethical archiving, sensitive collection management, and knowledge sharing, with a specific session dedicated to the Latin American context.

Keynote speaker Michela Giorelli, an Emmy-winning Executive Producer at Vicoforte Media Productions, will lead the opening session. The event is sponsored by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) and supported by TV Cultura.
