São Paulo tolls rise 4‑5% as Artesp approves July 1 hike

The São Paulo State Transportation Agency (Artesp) authorized a statewide toll‑price adjustment that takes effect at midnight on 1 July 2026. The average increase is 4.72 % and is tied to the accumulated IPCA inflation rate from June 2025 to May 2026; the Rodovia dos Tamoios receives a provisional 5.08 % raise.

The change affects more than 30 toll plazas on over 30 highways managed by 13 concessionaires, including Anhanguera, Bandeirantes, Rodovia dos Tamoios, Rodoanel Oeste, SPMAR and Entrevias. While most plazas see higher fees, a handful are reduced – notably the Jaguariúna plaza on Rodovia Adhemar Pereira de Barros, which drops from R$17.60 to R$8.80. The Anchieta‑Imigrantes corridor remains Brazil’s most expensive toll, climbing to R$40.60.

A planned rollout of the electronic “free‑flow” toll system on the Anchieta‑Imigrantes route has been postponed, with no new start date announced. Drivers can consult the official Diário Oficial for the complete list of updated rates.
