São Paulo university entrance exams and Provão Paulista details

Students in São Paulo have various pathways to access public higher education through different examination processes. The traditional entrance exams (vestibulares) are managed by specific organizations: Fuvest coordinates the University of São Paulo (USP) admissions, Vunesp manages the São Paulo State University (Unesp) process, and Comvest handles the University of Campinas (Unicamp) selection.

Additionally, the Provão Paulista Seriado offers a different model for public school students. This continuous assessment takes place across the three years of high school. For the 2026 cycle, which targets entry in 2027, there are 15,819 vacancies available across USP, Unicamp, Unesp, Univesp, and Fatecs. Unlike traditional exams, the Provão Paulista uses cumulative scores from the first, second, and third years of high school to classify students, with the final stage including an essay.
