Brazil reports multiple fires and explosions across several states
Several fire and explosion incidents have been reported across various regions in Brazil.
In São Simão, Goiás, a series of three explosions occurred in the food court area of the bus terminal. The first explosion was the most intense, causing structural damage to commercial boxes and the metal roof. An 86-year-old man suffered burns to approximately 63% of his body and was airlifted to a specialized hospital in Goiânia, while two others were treated for minor injuries and hypertensive crises. Authorities suspect a gas leak involving LPG cylinders may be the cause.
In Caçu, Goiás, a large fire destroyed part of a lumber yard's roof and a significant amount of stored wood. Firefighters worked to contain the flames to prevent them from spreading to other stockpiles; no injuries were reported.
In Ananindeua, Pará, a fire broke out in an irregular landfill in the Guajará neighborhood. The blaze, which involved tires, plastic, and wood, produced dense black smoke that alarmed local residents. Firefighters were called to control the spread.
In Piripiri, Piauí, a residential fire destroyed furniture and electronics in a single room. The fire reportedly started from a fan, though technical verification is pending. No injuries were reported.
