So So Modern releases first EP in over a decade

The New Zealand indie band So So Modern has released 'Light Years', their first EP in over a decade. Featuring the original lineup of Grayson Gilmour, Mark Y Leong, Aidan Leong, and Daniel Nagels, the release marks a return to the post-punk, synth, and energetic vocal style that defined their earlier work.

Released via Flying Nun Records and Holiday Records, the EP serves as a meditation on time, memory, and the passage of years since their 2013 release, 'Transpacific Express'. The music incorporates elements of disco, punk, and sci-fi synths across six tracks, including 'Apocalypse Wow', 'Peace Talks', and 'Eat You Alive'.

To support the release, the band will perform shows in Wellington at the Newtown Community Centre, featuring both all-ages and R18 performances. The EP is available on major streaming platforms and in vinyl format.
