Soňa Krajčovičová receives Grant Agency of the Czech Republic Chairman's Prize

Soňa Krajčovičová, a researcher from the Faculty of Science at Palacký University Olomouc, has been awarded the Chairman's Prize from the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic (GA ČR).

The award recognizes her work in developing new chemical methods that act as molecular ‘clips’. These methods allow for the targeted modification of peptides—short chains of amino acids—to improve their stability, facilitate tracking within biological systems, and enhance their ability to reach specific cellular targets. Such advancements expand the potential use of peptides in biology and medicine, particularly in drug development.

Krajčovičová noted that the support from the Grant Agency enabled her to gain essential international experience following her doctorate, which she is now applying as she establishes her own research group in the Czech Republic.
