Soacha begins delivery of 140 housing improvement projects
The municipality of Soacha has begun delivering the first 140 housing improvements as part of a larger program targeting 800 homes. With an investment of 9.68 billion pesos funded by Fonvivienda, the Cundinamarca Governor's Office, and the Soacha Mayor's Office, the initiative aims to address qualitative housing deficits by upgrading essential structures.
Each home receives up to 12 million pesos for specific repairs, including the replacement of roofs, and the renovation of bathrooms, kitchens, floors, and bedrooms. The works are distributed across the six communes of Soacha, based on technical diagnoses of each property.
Beneficiaries were selected through a public call and must meet specific criteria: they must be homeowners, have family incomes of up to four minimum monthly wages, and have not received housing subsidies in the last ten years. Additionally, 20% of the spots are reserved for prioritized populations, including victims of the armed conflict, the elderly, people with disabilities, and community mothers. The program aims to complete 400 improvements by the end of 2026, reaching 50% of its total goal.
