ČSOB introduces personalized cards and improved exchange rates

ČSOB has introduced new features to its Smart banking application, focusing on both payment card personalization and improved foreign exchange services.

The bank launched a service called ‘Karta, co má jméno’, which allows customers to design their own debit or credit cards. Unlike competitors such as Komerční banka, which allows photos, or Revolut, which allows custom text, ČSOB is the first in the Czech market to combine both features, enabling users to upload a custom image and add personalized text to their cards.

Additionally, ČSOB is piloting an updated e-směnárna (e-exchanger) service. For certain clients, specifically those with Premium accounts, the digital exchange office now utilizes real-time market rates rather than standard fixed rates. This change can significantly reduce the markup compared to the European Central Bank rate, dropping from approximately 2.6% to around 1% in some instances. These preferential rates are currently available on business days between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM, with a transaction limit of 250,000 CZK.
