Sobradillo Sunday festival features water games and 900 paella servings

On Sunday, the town of Sobradillo hosted its traditional patron saint festivities with a range of activities aimed at families. A water slide and children’s cart races provided relief from the summer heat, while safety concerns over forest fire risk prompted the town hall to relocate the paella preparation to the central plaza. After cooking, the large paella was transferred by trailer to La Chopera, where approximately 900 servings were distributed to residents and visitors. The event, honoring Santiago Apóstol, drew a massive crowd and highlighted community solidarity despite the logistical changes.

Organisers emphasized the adaptation to fire‑prevention measures, ensuring that the celebration could proceed safely while maintaining its popular culinary tradition.
