Sobradinho to launch mobile ICU base by year‑end

The Intermunicipal Consortium Vale do Jacuí announced that a mobile intensive‑care unit will be installed in Sobradinho, Rio Grande do Sul, with four fully equipped ambulances and on‑call medical teams. The service is expected to become operational before the end of the year, cutting patient transport times from two‑three hours to a few minutes and improving safety for hospitals, staff and families.

The project is linked to the new Regional Center of Medical Specialties being built in Sobradinho. While the building is complete, activation depends on the release of federal Ministry of Health funds for furniture and equipment. Once funded, the center will host 11 consultation rooms, multiple specialties and telemedicine services, reducing the need for residents to travel to other cities for care.
