Sochi targeted by drone attacks hitting air defense and oil warehouse
Ukrainian drone and maritime attacks targeted several Russian locations, most notably the Black Sea resort city of Sochi and the nearby Sirius federal territory. Reports indicate that the strikes hit an air defense position, potentially involving S-300 or S-400 systems, and caused a significant fire at a Rosneft-owned oil warehouse in Adler.
In addition to the strikes in the Krasnodar Krai region, reports suggest an attack on the Avangard defense industry factory in Sterlitamak, Bashkortostan. In Moscow, authorities reported intercepting a total of 35 drones during the night, which led to temporary flight restrictions at Vnukovo and other airports.
While drone debris caused damage to residential buildings in Sochi, the Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters stated there were no immediate reports of casualties. Local aviation authorities in Sochi and Gelendzhik also temporarily restricted flight operations to ensure safety during the incidents.
