Social activism and peace initiatives announced in Germany and Austria

Various organizations in Germany and Austria are organizing events focused on peace, social justice, and environmental sustainability.

The Bund für Soziale Verteidigung e. V. is hosting a conference in Reutlingen on October 17, 2026, titled ‘We shall overcome!’. The event aims to explore how individuals can remain socially engaged and maintain hope amidst global conflict and injustice. Speakers Jacqueline Andres and Bruno Kern will share personal biographical perspectives on maintaining long-term commitment to social causes.

Additionally, as part of the ‘Reclaim the Economy Week 2026’, an online teach-in is scheduled for January 30, 2026. Organized by the Wellbeing Economy Alliance, Earth4All, and Generationendialog, the webinar will examine the connection between war and environmental destruction. The discussion will feature insights from the Club of Rome regarding planetary peace and the systemic shifts required to address poverty, inequality, and energy security.
