Mexico regional governments launch infrastructure and social support programs

Various regional government initiatives are underway across Mexico to address infrastructure and social needs. In Puebla, the state government has launched a plan to pave 412 kilometers of roads across 31 municipalities during 2026. This follows a 2025 effort that covered 146 kilometers, supported by asphalt and fuel donations from PEMEX.

In Texcoco, the municipal government is investing over 400,000 pesos in fish feed to boost aquaculture production. The program includes the release of 1,300 carp into the Monamiquiatl dam to support local food security and economic opportunities across 96 water bodies.

Social and emergency responses continue in other regions. In Morelos, SEDIF has established a community kitchen and distributed food and hygiene kits to families in Tepalcingo affected by heavy rains. In Puebla city, road rehabilitation projects are targeting long-neglected streets to improve mobility and safety. Additionally, municipal efforts in Ramos Arizpe are focusing on pothole repair following recent weather-related road damage.
