Campo Grande launches training for child violence protection

The Government School of Campo Grande (EGOV) has launched a specialized training program titled ‘Escuta Especializada nas Políticas de Assistência Social e Saúde’ (Specialized Listening in Social Assistance and Health Policies). The initiative is designed to train 80 municipal employees to better serve children and adolescents who are victims or witnesses of violence.

The 40-hour course combines 20 hours of online learning with 20 hours of in-person sessions over two months. The curriculum focuses on ethical, technical, and humanized care, teaching professionals to distinguish between specialized listening and special testimony to prevent re-victimization.

Participants include staff from the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance (SAS) and the Municipal Secretariat of Health (Sesau). The training aims to strengthen the protection network by improving how services are coordinated and how victims are integrated into public policy frameworks.
