Social commerce expands in the Brazilian retail market
Social commerce is rapidly expanding within the Brazilian retail market, integrating product discovery and transactions directly into social media platforms. According to Adyen’s 2025 Retail Report, 55% of Brazilian consumers already use social media for shopping, and 64% expect a seamless experience across various touchpoints, including physical stores and e-commerce sites.
TikTok Shop has seen significant growth in the region, reporting a 102-fold increase in its average daily gross merchandise value following its first year of operations in Brazil.
Retailers like Centauro are also heavily investing in this model. The company reported that social commerce represents between 5% and 6% of its digital sales, generating R$ 183.2 million in revenue since 2021. Centauro utilizes its proprietary Social Comm platform to manage influencer partnerships and track sales performance.
