Social cooperatives in Italy expand welfare and innovation services

Italian social cooperatives are highlighting different approaches to service delivery and organizational growth. Cooperativa Sociale Clarissa is celebrating ten years of operation in the Rieti territory. Since its inception in 2016, the organization has grown to 33 employees, providing services in asylum seeker reception, social and medical assistance, hospitality, cleaning, gardening, and construction.

In the Marche region, Agenzia RES is implementing a Strategic Innovation Path (PIS) to evolve its welfare model. After forty years of providing services such as childcare, elderly care, and mental health support through public administration contracts, the cooperative aims to move beyond traditional service delivery. The new initiative focuses on radical and incremental innovation to address increasingly complex social needs through co-programming and co-designing local policies with institutions.
