Social Democratic Party calls for meritocracy and anti-corruption measures
The Social Democratic Party (TDP) has raised concerns regarding meritocracy, political neutrality, and the use of public resources in government administration.
TDP Chairman Zeki Çeler called for an investigation into leaked footage suggesting that public employment might be used as a political tool. Çeler questioned whether state positions are being offered in exchange for votes, emphasizing that citizens and youth should not have to pledge political loyalty to secure jobs. He demanded transparency regarding specific hiring processes and the relationship between public institutions and private companies.
Kemal Baykallı, TDP Secretary for Foreign Relations and Digital Diplomacy, reinforced these positions by stating that the party’s primary objective is to prevent corruption and restore public trust. Baykallı highlighted that the party is focusing on education, healthcare, and merit-based appointments as central pillars of their platform to address current administrative and economic challenges.
