Social Democratic Party outlines key policy priorities

Redif Ekinci, General Secretary of the Social Democratic Party (TDP), has outlined the party's policy priorities should they come to power. A central pillar of their platform is the implementation of a comprehensive and transparent population census, involving sociologists and academics, to better inform citizenship and social policies.

Ekinci also detailed several key objectives, including the establishment of a Ministry of Technology and Digital Transformation, the implementation of a general health insurance system, and the creation of a fair tax system. The party intends to prioritize investigating past irregularities and corruption to ensure accountability.

Regarding the economy, Ekinci stated that the party would focus on increasing purchasing power rather than just raising wages. He noted that a transition period involving an ‘bitter prescription’ might be necessary to address economic challenges, emphasizing that economic sacrifices should begin with high-level officials. Additionally, Ekinci criticized recent changes to election laws, arguing they are motivated by short-term political interests rather than meaningful reform.
