Social Democratic Party warns of far-right rise in Andorra

The Social Democratic Party (PS) in Andorra has raised concerns regarding the rise of far-right and populist discourse within the country’s political institutions. Pere Baró, president of the PS, specifically identified the parliamentary group Andorra Endavant as possessing a far-right, populist discourse.

Baró expressed particular concern that certain political stances are being imported from foreign political realities and applied to the Andorran context, such as rhetoric surrounding alleged migratory control. While he did not explicitly call for a ‘cordon sanitaire’ against these groups, he urged citizens to remain well-informed before upcoming elections, arguing that far-right projects often consist of ‘empty words’ rather than viable political plans.
