Social empowerment initiatives launched in Chile and Argentina

In Chile, the water utility company Aguas del Valle has concluded its “Mujeres Gásfiter: Talento que Fluye” program. The initiative provided free training to 37 women from the Elqui and Choapa provinces, specifically in La Serena and Illapel, equipping them with advanced plumbing skills to enter a traditionally male-dominated field.

In Argentina, journalist María Belén Ludueña launched “Alumbrando Futuro,” a project designed to support vulnerable mothers staying in public hospital maternity residences in Buenos Aires. The program offers workshops in sewing, knitting, makeup, and manual crafts, as well as training on using mobile phones for work, to help mothers gain autonomy and generate income while their children are hospitalized.
