Social Friday initiative to host youth connection events across the Netherlands

Social Friday, a national initiative by Stichting Join Us, will take place across various locations in the Netherlands on Friday, September 25. The event aims to help young people meet new people and reduce loneliness through low-threshold social activities.

In the Hoeksche Waard region, activities will be held at youth centers in Strijen (De Klep), Numansdorp (De Schakel), and Oud-Beijerland (Bij Frits). Participants can engage in Art Games, such as creating a large collaborative painting, and have the option to join a communal meal.

In Zwolle, the event will be hosted at Jongerencentrum ReZet in Zwolle-Zuid, organized by Hart voor Zwolle, Humanitas, and Roetz Nederland. Instead of formal introductions, participants can connect through activities like pool, table football, or roasting marshmallows over a campfire. The initiative seeks to support the more than 458,000 young people in the Netherlands who experience feelings of loneliness.
