Social grants and innovation scholarships announced in Brazil

The Instituto Lojas Renner has launched the second edition of its ‘Encantando Comunidades: Recursos Flexíveis’ initiative. The program aims to select up to 30 civil society organizations (CSOs) in Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro to receive grants of up to R$ 10,000. These flexible funds are intended to support strategic institutional needs such as management, sustainability, governance, technology, and communication.

In Rio Grande do Sul, eligible organizations must be from the Bom Jesus community in Porto Alegre. In Rio de Janeiro, the focus is on the West Zone. In São Paulo, the program covers municipalities including Itu, Jundiaí, Sorocaba, and others. Participating organizations must have at least one year of proven activity in the eligible territories.

Separately, Sebrae RS has extended the application period for its Local Innovation Agent (ALI) – Innovation Ecosystems program. The selection process offers 18 immediate vacancies and 50 reserve positions for roles such as Local Innovation Agent and Advisor across various regions of Rio Grande do Sul. Monthly stipends range from R$ 5,000 to R$ 6,500. Applications are open until September 11 through the FAPETEC portal.
