Social inclusion initiatives launched for people with disabilities in Slovenia and Croatia
In Slovenia, the ‘Aktivno inkluzivno’ (Actively Inclusive) project is expanding its efforts to improve social inclusion for people with disabilities through sports. Following a successful first year, the Olympic Committee of Slovenia and the Slovenian Paralympic Committee have selected 42 training programs for the 2026/2027 period. These programs, funded with 350,000 euros, will offer free access to 17 different sports disciplines, including athletics, swimming, judo, and table tennis, to promote active lifestyles and social connection.
In Croatia, the ‘Jednaki u zajednici’ (Equal in the Community) project has launched in the Vukovar-Srijem County. Valued at approximately 227,630 euros, the three-year initiative aims to improve the quality of life for the elderly and individuals with visual or hearing impairments. Led by the Association of the Blind of Vukovar-Srijem County in partnership with local government and hearing-impaired associations, the project includes legal and psychological workshops to enhance social services and community participation.
