Social issue films to be screened in Harburg and Mitterteich
Various film screenings in Germany are being held to highlight critical social issues. In Harburg, the DRK-Hospiz for Hamburg's South, in collaboration with local hospice and church organizations, will host a screening of the film ‘Heldin’ on October 7, 2026. Directed by Petra Volpe, the film depicts the daily challenges of a nursing professional, focusing on themes of responsibility, time pressure, and the human element in healthcare.
In Mitterteich, a screening of the short film ‘Erinnerungen einer vergessenen Kindheit’ (Memories of a Forgotten Childhood) is scheduled for October 5, 2026. Directed by Lars Smekal, the film explores the experiences of children growing up with parents struggling with addiction. The event includes a professional discussion aimed at raising awareness for the approximately three million children in Germany living in such circumstances.
