Social media influencers face rumors and legal reopening
Mexican influencer Lupita TikTok has addressed false reports circulating on social media claiming she had passed away. The creator expressed anger and sadness, stating that she is in good health and that the rumors have caused distress among her followers, family, and friends.
Lupita TikTok attributed the spread of the misinformation to the magazine TV Notas, alleging the outlet published the news without verification. The rumor initially appeared on X before spreading to TikTok, where she has over one million followers.
In Chile, influencer Naya Fácil has been notified of the reopening of a judicial case stemming from a 2019 video recorded inside a church in Caldera. Although the legal process had previously concluded in 2023 with requirements for good conduct, the case was reactivated following a separate incident at a nightclub in Viña del Mar in 2024. Naya Fácil expressed confusion regarding the reactivation and the requirement for a personal appearance in court.
