Social protests intensify in Argentina over unemployment and economic hardship

Social organizations and unemployed groups in Argentina are intensifying protests regarding economic hardship and labor rights. In Caleta Olivia, the Polo Obrero organization has called for a demonstration in front of the ANSES headquarters on August 26. The group is protesting against unemployment, hunger, and rising debt, specifically noting the impact of low incomes on retirees and workers.

Polo Obrero has also requested that the CGT organize a strike and mobilization for August 28, coinciding with a meeting of the Minimum Wage Council. Additionally, the Frente de Lucha Piquetero plans to march to the Ministry of Human Capital to demand the restoration of social programs and food supplies for community kitchens.

In Cutral Co, a group of unemployed citizens led by Daniel Antigual is demanding access to job opportunities, social housing, and micro-enterprise credits through ENIM. The group asserts that these demands are supported by local and national constitutional rights.
