The Social Security Administration (SSA) has announced logistical adjustments to the payment schedule for October 2026. Due to federal holidays and weekends, certain beneficiaries will experience early or double payments.

Beneficiaries who began receiving benefits before May 1997, or those living abroad, typically receive payments on the 3rd of each month. Because October 3, 2026, falls on a Saturday, these disbursements will be moved forward to Friday, October 2.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients will receive a double payment within the month. The regular assignment will be paid on Thursday, October 1. Additionally, because November 1 falls on a weekend, the November payment will be advanced and deposited on Friday, October 30.
