The event focused on promoting research and professional development among medical residents, students, and healthcare staff. In Tungurahua, Ecuador, the Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social (IESS) organized a session to commemorate Occupational Safety and Health Day. The program addressed industrial hygiene, noise control, and participatory ergonomics to prevent musculoskeletal disorders and occupational diseases. Experts noted a concerning lack of formal reporting regarding hearing issues caused by high industrial noise levels.
