Social Security System honors 4,000 pensioners during annual celebration

The Social Security System (SSS) celebrated its 69th anniversary by honoring nearly 4,000 pensioners during its annual Pensioners’ Day on September 11, 2026. The event was held across 19 selected venues nationwide.

SSS President and CEO Robert Joseph M. de Claro stated that the celebration serves as an expression of gratitude for the pensioners’ contributions to the Philippine economy and nation-building. The anniversary theme, ‘Bawat Isa Protektado, Bawat Bukas Sigurado’, highlights the agency's commitment to securing the futures of its members and pensioners.

During the event, de Claro encouraged both retiree and surviving spouse pensioners to utilize the Pension Loan Program (PLP) for immediate financial needs. The PLP offers low-interest loans without requiring ATM cards as collateral. For qualified retirees, loans can reach up to P300,000 with a 10% annual interest rate. Surviving spouse pensioners are eligible for loans up to P150,000.
