Social services in Brazil enhance support for adolescents

Social assistance and juvenile justice institutions in Brazil are providing updated support and facilities for adolescents. Fundação CASA offers guidance for families of minors under 18 who have been apprehended by police or referred by the Judiciary for socio-educational measures. The institution provides a specialized communication channel, the "Canal da Família," and a digital handbook to assist families in navigating the process from initial apprehension to official contact.

In a related development for adolescent care, the Fundação de Ação Social (FAS) has relocated its "Casa V" unit to a larger, improved facility now named Casa Aurora. The new residence serves girls aged 12 to 18 who have been removed from family environments by judicial protection orders. The move increases capacity from 18 to 20 vacancies and provides improved infrastructure for privacy, accessibility, and socio-educational activities.
