Social solidarity and corporate volunteering address regional vulnerability

Corporate volunteering is increasingly being utilized as a tool to connect social impact with employee well-being and skill development. According to the Voluntare 2025 Report, 97% of surveyed organizations in Europe and Latin America identify competency development as a key benefit, while 97.7% note improvements in employee motivation and sense of belonging.

In Ecuador, Alpina Ecuador has launched ‘Alpinistas en Acción,’ a program designed to foster social contribution and employee purpose. The initiative recently held the VI Ruta Contra el Hambre in collaboration with the Banco de Alimentos de Quito, involving 49 employees in activities focused on food security.

In Spain, social organizations like Cáritas continue to address high rates of social vulnerability. Data from the National Statistics Institute indicates that 25.7% of the resident population in Spain was at risk of poverty or social exclusion in 2025. Support efforts include food assistance, housing, employment aid, and integration services for migrants, funded through a combination of individual donations, monthly contributions, and corporate partnerships.
