Social welfare initiatives launched in Quang Ninh and Dien Bien

In Vietnam, various social welfare initiatives are underway to support vulnerable populations. In Quang Ninh, the 24h Living Blood Bank Club, part of the city's Red Cross Society, provided 15 million VND in financial assistance to a family facing severe medical hardships. The support is intended for the family of Mễ Long Giang, who is undergoing long-term treatment for a traumatic brain injury, and his sister, Mễ Thị Quỳnh Như, who has been managing diabetes since age seven.

Simultaneously, in Dien Bien province, a savings festival titled ‘Savings Day - Joining Hands for the Poor’ was launched in Bung Lao commune. Organized by the Muong Ang Social Policy Bank, the program encourages local residents and officials to deposit funds through various savings schemes. The mobilized capital is designated to provide preferential loans to poor and near-poor households, as well as ethnic minority groups in difficult areas, to support production and improve local livelihoods.
