Socialdemokraterna proposes new financial support package for students

The Social Democratic Party (Socialdemokraterna) has introduced a new election platform titled the ‘student package’ aimed at improving the financial situation for students in Sweden. Presented by education policy spokesperson Anders Ygeman and S-students leader Elfva Barrio, the proposal includes five key pillars.

Key measures include a rejection of market-based rents, the construction of 10,000 additional student housing units, and the reintroduction of free dental care for individuals up to age 23. Additionally, the party proposes making public transport free for children, youth, and full-time students during terms, as well as establishing a trainee program within the state sector to help recent graduates enter the labor market.
