Socialist Party official criticizes AD government policies

José Nascimento, a member of the Socialist Party (PS) National Commission and president of the Socialist Youth of Loulé, has criticized the policies of the Democratic Alliance (AD) government regarding education, health, and housing.

During a meeting in Lisbon, Nascimento argued that proposed increases in tuition fees, reductions in healthcare funding, and changes to rental regulations could negatively impact the ability of young people to study, find qualified work, and secure housing. He specifically noted a projected 1.5% reduction in healthcare funding compared to 2026, amounting to approximately 268 million euros, and warned that such measures could compromise the country's pursuit of a more qualified workforce.
