Socialist Party requests urgent hearing on PRR execution
The Socialist Party (PS) has requested an urgent parliamentary hearing with the Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion, Manuel Castro Almeida, to discuss the status of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
The request seeks clarity on the financial, material, and operational execution of the plan. The PS aims to distinguish between meeting the milestones required for European Commission disbursements and the actual execution of investments. The party noted that while over 14 billion euros have been paid out of a total allocation exceeding 20 billion euros, there remains a gap between meeting European conditions and the actual amounts received by beneficiaries.
Additionally, the PS has requested to hear from various leaders, including the presidents of the Recover Portugal Mission Structure, the National Monitoring Commission for the PRR, and representatives from national associations of municipalities and social solidarity institutions. Concerns were raised regarding execution difficulties in social solidarity projects and delays in primary healthcare investments.
