Sociedad Civil Española launches ‘Reinicia España’ election campaign

Sociedad Civil Española has launched a citizen campaign titled ‘Reinicia España’ (Restart Spain), demanding that the President of the Government call for general elections. The initiative sets a deadline of November 15, 2026, for the official decree to be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).

The campaign utilizes a yellow poster as a symbol, which citizens are encouraged to display on balconies, windows, storefronts, or vehicles to represent a ‘restart button’ for the country. Organizers emphasize that the movement is non-partisan, does not support any specific political party or candidate, and aims solely to allow citizens to express their will through the ballot box.

Because the power to call early elections rests with the President, the organizers are using the campaign as a tool for civic mobilization through freedom of expression. If no election is called by the November deadline, the group intends to intensify its peaceful mobilization.
