Sociedad de Activos Especiales hands over Neiva property for Casa de la Memoria
The Sociedad de Activos Especiales (SAE) transferred a 620‑square‑metre building in Neiva, Colombia, to the Observatorio Surcolombiano de Derechos Humanos, Paz y Territorio (Obsurdh). The hand‑over, part of SAE’s “Bienes que transforman” initiative, will convert the site into a Casa de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos, a centre for documenting violence, researching human‑rights abuses, and training citizens.
The property, previously linked to an investigation of alleged money‑laundering by Jorge Humberto Espitia Arciniegas, will now serve victims and organisations working in Huila and Caquetá. Obsurdh director Rosa Liliana Ortiz said the space will strengthen the group’s two‑decade‑long work on memory, truth and peace for roughly 800 people in the region.
