Argentina agricultural sector sees leadership changes and internal disputes
Argentina's agricultural sector is experiencing significant leadership shifts and internal friction. Within the Sociedad Rural Argentina (SRA), the group ‘Renovación con Unidad’ has accused President Nicolás Pino of undermining provincial representation. The group alleges that Pino ignored votes from Entre Ríos and unilaterally appointed technical teams, preventing elected directors Mariano Berisso and Mayda Spiazzi from designating their own staff.
In a separate development, the Federación Agraria Argentina (FAA) has re-elected Andrea Sarnari as president during its 112th Annual Ordinary Congress. Sarnari secured more than 90% of the vote, continuing her leadership with a focus on supporting small and medium-sized producers facing economic and climatic challenges. She will be joined by Vice Presidents José Luis Careggio and José Luis Volando.
Additionally, the news agency Diarios Bonaerenses (DIB) has renewed its leadership, with Gonzalo Julián Irazoqui ratified as president and Ramona Maciel as vice president. Meanwhile, in San Luis, the Sociedad Rural Río Quinto has called for specialized judicial structures to combat cattle theft (abigeato) following recent incidents.
Nicolás Pino is also scheduled to represent the agricultural sector at the Argentina Week in Paris, joining government officials and business leaders to promote international investment and trade.
