Sociedade Comercial C. Santos and Petronas host inaugural Mechanic Day

Sociedade Comercial C. Santos and Petronas hosted the inaugural ‘Dia do Mecânico – Soc. Com. C. Santos/Petronas’ on September 19 at the Kartódromo Cabo do Mundo in Matosinhos. The event brought together professionals from workshops that use the Petronas lubricant line for a day of social interaction and karting competition.

While International Mechanic Day is officially observed on February 24, the companies chose to establish a new annual celebration in September to mark the return to work following the summer holiday period. Ricardo Soares, director of parts and lubricants at Sociedade Comercial C. Santos, described mechanics as the ‘backbone of after-sales and the automotive sector as a whole.’

The initiative aimed to honor the essential role of mechanics and strengthen relationships between the company and its partner workshops through a break from daily routines.
