Sociálna poisťovňa warns of new phishing scam mimicking mobile app

The Social Insurance Agency (Sociálna poisťovňa) has issued a warning regarding a new phishing scam targeting users through a fraudulent website. The attackers have created a fake interface that closely mimics the official mobile application, using identical graphics and elements to appear legitimate.

The scam works by prompting users to pay a fictitious outstanding debt. When victims click the payment link, they are redirected to a fraudulent site designed to steal credit card details and gain access to bank accounts. The agency emphasizes that the official website is socpoist.sk and warns that they never request sensitive payment card information via unverified links.

To stay safe, officials advise users to open the official mobile application directly on their devices rather than through links in messages, and to always verify the web address in the browser.
