Socrates: The philosophical importance of intellectual humility

The philosophical legacy of Socrates centers on the importance of intellectual humility and constant questioning. His famous assertion, “I only know that I know nothing,” serves as a foundation for genuine learning by acknowledging the limits of human knowledge and acting as an antidote to intellectual arrogance.
