SODERCAN launches initiatives for female talent and family business succession

SODERCAN, the Cantabrian Development Society, has launched two strategic initiatives to strengthen the regional economy through talent development and business continuity.

To promote female talent, the organization is implementing a long-term strategy ranging from encouraging STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) vocations in young girls to fostering female leadership in business. This includes a collaboration with the Asociación Mujer y Talento to implement the STEAM Cantabria program, aiming to reduce the gender gap in technical sectors.

Additionally, SODERCAN has announced a new call for aid under its family protocol program for SMEs. With a budget of 100,000 euros, the initiative supports generational succession in family-owned businesses. Companies can receive subsidies covering 50% of eligible costs, up to a maximum of 15,000 euros, to assist with business diagnostics and the creation of family protocols or strategic plans to ensure professional management and governance during leadership transitions.
