Morango cravejado becomes a viral confectionery trend in Brazil

The 'morango cravejado' (jeweled strawberry) has emerged as a major confectionery trend in Brazil, driven by viral social media content. This dessert, a variation of the 'morango do amor', features fresh strawberries coated in white brigadeiro and chocolate with crunchy red caramel crystals.

Major confectionery chains and small businesses are capitalizing on the craze. Sodiê Doces has launched the product following previous viral successes, while small entrepreneurs like Beatriz Doceria in Blumenau reported generating over R$ 12,000 in sales within just ten days. In Joinville, confectioneries are producing up to 100 units daily to meet demand.

Beyond the new trend, traditional Brazilian sweets continue to hold cultural significance. In São Paulo, various establishments offer creative interpretations of the classic brigadeiro, and in Campos dos Goytacazes, the 'chuvisco' remains a recognized piece of local intangible cultural heritage.
