Sodium bicarbonate as a bathroom cleaning solution

Sodium bicarbonate mixed with water can serve as a simple solution for cleaning bathroom surfaces. Because it is slightly alkaline, the mixture helps loosen superficial dirt, soap residue, and unpleasant odors.

To prepare the solution, dissolve two to three tablespoons of sodium bicarbonate in one liter of warm water. The mixture should be applied with a cloth or sponge to surfaces such as tiles and bathtubs, followed by rinsing with a damp cloth and drying.

While effective for removing grime and soap scum through gentle friction, sodium bicarbonate is not a substitute for disinfectants when the goal is to eliminate microorganisms. For deep cleaning or disinfection, specific products should be used according to the surface type.
