Soekarno Cup 2026 to feature 16 clubs across Indonesia in East Java

Sixteen youth football clubs from regions ranging from Papua to Sumatra North will compete in the Soekarno Cup 2026, scheduled for 10‑24 August 2026. The tournament will be held at four venues in East Java: Gelora 10 November Stadium, Gelora Bangkalan Stadium, Thor Field, and Gelora Joko Samudro Stadium in Gresik.

The event is backed by the PDI Perjuangan party, which aims to create a development pipeline for young talent. Committee member Ono Surono said the tournament will feed the party’s three affiliated clubs—Banteng Jatim FC (Liga 4), Putra Sang Fajar (Liga 3) and The Red FC (Liga 2). Regulations bar professional players and limit senior participants to three on the field at any time. Three licensed female referees will officiate matches from the group stage through the knockout rounds. Prize money totals several hundred million rupiah.
